A Fabulous Intertwine Success Story

I was contacted last week by a client I'll call Marilyn.

Marilyn had spent the better part of a decade working in luxury boutiques onboard international cruise ships. Over the course of several visits, she fell head-over-heels in love with the Carribean island of St. Lucia - and decided to make it her home.

She spent roughly 16 months in St. Lucia before deciding she missed actual seasons, and returned back to Canada.

After spending one gruelling winter in Canada, she was again bit by the travel bug and decided to start applying for onboard sales positions. Landing a sales position onboard a cruise ship is famously difficult. There aren't that many to start, and the competition is fierce. Marilyn contacted Intertwine Design + Communications to rewrite and redesign her resume.

6 days later, I received a call from Marilyn. She had just finished accepting the position of Art Director with Crystal Cruise Line, the Number 1 rated luxury cruise line in the world. In addition to being granted guest status, private accommodations, salary + commission and 100% gratuity reimbursement, she is also flying within one week to Dubai, United Arab Emirates to board her ship, The Crystal Symphony - to set sail for Paris, France followed by Alexandria, Egypt over the next 6 weeks.

Marilyn said that the recruiter, who is headquartered in Switzerland, said that there were many qualified applications submitted for the position, but only Marilyn's stood out - and is the reason she was contacted first, and ultimately chosen for the position.

So if you've ever wondered how important your resume is to your job search, I can tell you this with 100% certainty: it's the most important tool you have.

Congratulations, Marilyn on your newest adventure! We are honored to have played a part in your huge success!
