So Many Things To Tell You

What I've Been Up To

1. Just returned from an emergency family trip to Cuba. Yes, indeed, it was an emergency. My little cousin and I went. (Little, as in younger. 16 months younger, to be exact.)

The Beach was the best, the milk was...different. The people were wonderful and we met some fabulous new friends.

2. I've moved my fun little company into a corner office in a skyscraper in Downtown Regina. Perhaps "skyscraper" is an embellishment. It's in a 100+ year old building. But I am on the 2nd floor (which is the top floor, if you are wondering) and it's scraping the sky in relation to the people on the 1st floor.

So there. And? I am madly, madly in love with my new space.

3. Kids are back in school - The Girl started 2nd Grade and (no surprise) - loves her new teacher. The Boy began his high school career yesterday and is relieved he is on the "good" bus (versus the "ancient" bus) driven by his favorite bus driver. He is also pleased about the signifigant amount of dating possibilities with the increased female student population. He's 14. And it shows.

4. I've been invited by my dear friend A to accompany her to Toronto at the end of September. Oh, how I would love to go. But- I fear I have exhausted all of my travel allowance and vacation time on separate trips to: California, Mexico, Las Vegas, California (again) and Cuba this year. This girlfriend of mine is hilarious in the way that she doesn't KNOW she's hilarious. We would have a blast - I would guarantee it. But I would be scared that my lovely husband would do something drastic while I was away so I will be declining.

5. My dog, Isaboo, came to work with me today and has discovered the joy of watching the world go by whilst sitting on the 10" windowsills.

6. The cats will never accompany me to work. But my kids do. At every opportunity. They work in the front reception area at the glass table.

7. The glass table, in retrospect, isn't the best thing to have in a front reception area due to the constant windexing it requires.

8. A cousin of a very close friend of mine got married two weeks ago after dating her beloved for...get this...SEVENTEEN YEARS. We bumped into the happy couple weeks before their wedding and she told me she's starting her anniversary next year at 18.

Good for you, I said. Skip the paper, the cotton and the leather and go straight for the china.

Aaaaand....my phone rings.
